Cookie Policy
Last updated: 12-07-2026
This Cookie Policy explains how MaxVet (“we”, “us”, “our”), accessible at maxvet.co.uk, uses cookies and similar technologies, and the choices you have. It should be read together with our Privacy Notice. MaxVet is operated by MaxPet Limited, a company registered in England and Wales, and this policy is written to comply with the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR) and the UK GDPR.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They let a site remember things between pages or visits — for example, to keep you securely signed in. Cookies can be “first-party” (set by us) or “third-party” (set by another organisation), and either “session” (deleted when you close your browser) or “persistent” (kept for a set time).
2. The cookies we use
MaxVet uses only a small number of strictly necessary cookies. These are required to make the site work and keep your account secure. MaxVet runs no first-party JavaScript and sets no analytics, advertising or profiling cookies.
| Name | Provider | Type | Purpose | Expiry |
|---|---|---|---|---|
maxvets_session |
MaxVet (first-party) | Strictly necessary | Maintains your secure session and sign-in. Without it you could not log in or use your clinic account. Marked Secure and HttpOnly. | Persistent (up to 30 days; removed when you sign out) |
maxvets_csrf |
MaxVet (first-party) | Strictly necessary | Protects forms (login, sign-up, sending appointments and invitations) against cross-site request forgery. Marked Secure and HttpOnly. | Persistent (up to 30 days) |
__cf_bm / cf_clearance |
Cloudflare (our hosting, security & content-delivery provider) | Strictly necessary (security) | Helps protect the site from malicious bots and abusive traffic, and are set when Cloudflare’s security features — including the sign-up challenge — are triggered. Not used for advertising or tracking. | __cf_bm: ~30 minutes · cf_clearance: up to 1 year |
3. No analytics, advertising or consent banner
Because MaxVet sets only strictly necessary cookies, we do not show a cookie consent banner — there are no optional cookies to accept or reject. We do not use analytics, advertising, marketing or profiling cookies, we do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers. The only third-party script the site can load is Cloudflare Turnstile, a privacy-preserving security challenge shown on the sign-up form; it is used to tell humans from bots, not to track you.
4. Your choices
You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Please note that blocking strictly necessary cookies will stop core features such as signing in from working.
5. Legal basis
Under PECR, strictly necessary cookies — those essential to provide a service you have requested, such as signing in — do not require consent, but we must tell you about them, which is the purpose of this policy. If we ever introduce non-essential cookies, we will ask for your prior consent first. Where we process personal data, we do so in accordance with the UK GDPR.
6. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised “last updated” date.
